    Artist History
How about starting with a rundown of how things work. My songs usually take a day or two to complete, if I can work on them a majority of that time. I lay down the basic music, play it through a second computer and record improvised vocals as I listen to it. At most, a full song will require two takes to lay down the vocals I'll be using.. not including snips here and there that I will record and throw in to the song while mixing. I name my songs after they are completed. How it will turn out and what its meaning is to me is a total mystery until i get that feeling. That, 'it's finished.. this is what I was supposed to create' feeling. I hear music in my head contantly that I can't get out through my fingers. Almost always its completely different sounding than what comes out when I write my songs, so for the most part I enjoy listening to that music in my head.. but focus on actually creating other works. If I was unable to use my voice as another instrument, I don't know that I'd have ever gotten into producing my own stuff at all. It wasnt until I discovered that I could sing that I began considering the possibility.. and I've found that most of my progress in creation comes once I begin to sing to a bassline melody.Musically I need a -lot- of work. Firstly, I dont (and have never) read music, or know how to. I started playing keyboard and piano when i was about 5 years old.. this was the first step to realizing what an ear I have, I could pick things up after only hearing them once. I played the recorder in grade school. At 15 I adopted a guitar, and though my ear was just as suited for this instrument as others.. my fingers and motor skills were not. I use this instrument rarely, for small atmospheric samples and mood enhacements.I recorded my first original song in November of 1999 after many years of frustration with an instrument I wasnt suited for and styles that weren't mine. Thankfully this breathrough occured just in time to express a series of very difficult times in my life through song.. ultimately leading to the birth of Point of Origin, which to this day remains my favorite album.Since then I have released Altercations, a remix CD with a few new works tossed in.. and been featured on various websites and publications. As time goes on, my music is popping up more places and gaining more interest from other artists looking to collarborate. I only wish I had more time.
