Artist History
G is from New York and sang (yelled?) with some hardcore punk groups before coming out to the West coast. His distinct voice gives our music a rough edge. Chris is the guitarist from San Diego and played a Gibson SG for live shows and the album. Chris and G met at the UCLA Co-op in Westwood and started the Martian Americans in 1994. They teamed up with Matt, an amazing drummer, who has been equally influenced by jazz and heavy metal drummers. Matt is usually singled out as the top musician in the band and previously recorded on a jazz album. Our bassists have changed several times. The first Nathan went to work for Intel, another Nathan (who recorded on the album) is currently at MIT. |

Albums
The album “Voices Calling” is basically recorded live in the studio, except for a few overdubs. It was recorded at Technohouse Studio at Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica. Although we are mostly known for our raw, high energy live shows, the CD is pretty representative of our stuff . Check it out. |
