Artist History
Science and Magnus met through a mutual songwriter friend in the suburbs of Columbus, Ohio. They began tinkering around with sequencing software, teaching each other along the way while catching the eyes of local electronica heroes/producers. They released "Alpha", an ambitious double-lp set in November of 1997 to the praise of the local press, which cited Birthquake as, "...the dawning of electronica in Columbus..." After a 8-month hiatus during which Science began work on a solo lp and Magnus produced the tracks for an upcoming hip-hop cd, Birthquake assembled once again to record "The MP3 Collection", a cd that will only be available on MP3.com, as well as another full-length lp due out this winter. |
