Artist History
The band was formed by Herv Darcelin sometime in 1977. The band had undergone various metamorphosis by the time Eddie Villanueva was asked to join on January 1st 1978. He later suggested that island buddy, Raul Torres be added to the group to take up the bass vacancy left by Rob Garmon. The band won favorable reviews after defeating various local bands at a "Battle of the Bands" staged in Willingboro, New Jersey where an A&R rep from Sony Records was present and urged the band to get representation and a demo |

Press Reviews
ZZAR was featured at a Battle of the Bands in 1980 where they took 1st place and were offered an opportunity from SONY records to have their music heard. Due to tragic circumstances, the band was never able to pursue this goal. |
