Artist description
THE RUSTICATORS are a San Francisco-based acoustic band with emphasis on harmonies. Using diverse sounds from traditional & contemporary folk to rockin California pop, the band integrates a wide range of styles to create their own unique brand of acoustic Americana. At the center of the band are Abbey Linfert and Chris Amsler.
Born and raised in Santa Monica, CA. Christian Devin Amsler has been a singer/songwriter/guitarist/drummer for over 20 years. His influences range from Miles Davis to the Monkees. Living, playing and performing in San Francisco for the past 13 years in various projects from Heavy Metal to Surf music, Chris is currently the drummer for the San Francisco production of Hedwig and The Angry Inch. Two years ago, Chris met fellow Gram Parsons fan, Abbey Linfert, and joined the Rusticators.
Hailing from New England, Abbey Linfert is a singer, songwriter and mandolin player. Fueled by a passion for acoustic music & harmonies, Ms. Linfert’s roots are in old country, folk and good old fashioned rock-n-roll. KUSP DJ Tom McCarter compares Ms. Linferts sound to that of singing great Emmylou Harris. Her songwriting style has been described as a melodic storyteller's voice filled with the emotions of everyday living and honesty.
The Rusticators released their debut CD (cleverly titled The Rusticators) in the fall of 2002. A collection of 13 original tunes, the album was recorded and produced by Amsler and Linfert. Several talented musicians played on the recording, including Keith Pintner, Mark Yeary and Mark Petrella. Since its release, the album has received critical acclaim and radio play in the US, Europe and Australia. Two tracks, New Start and Forever Finds You, have been selected for track of the day at garageband.com.
The Rusticators gig regularly throughout the greater Bay area and in Los Angeles County. For more information about The Rusticators and their upcoming shows, please go to www.isart.com.
