Artist description sky promises rain are a five-piece band from Nüremberg in southern Germany. With too few tattos to be Hardcore, too loud to be Post Core, not f***ed up enough to be truly "Emo"too fond of beer and cigarettes to be Straight-Edge and too punk to be "just" a rock band we´ve settled on "Emo-Rock" as our preferred pigeonhole. Coming from various backgrounds in the local Hardcore, Metal, and Britpop (?!!) scenes, the current members came together during 2000 to make hard, loud but melodious guitar music for your delight and delectati

Artist History Originally founded by Markus and Stefan after the split of Nuremberg Emo-Legends Jennifer Eight. First line-up: Markus-g, Frank-g, Stefan-v, George-b, Markus-d After the recording sessions for a demo cd Frank and Markus left the band with George joining on guitar. With a new drummer and bassplayer shows were played with show with Standing 8 (Canada) and 8 Days Of Nothing (Sweden) at Nürnberg's Kunstverein. A second recording session produced a split 7" with Endwise issued on millipede records (www.millipederecords.de) Shows in Zwiesel with Tagtraum and Join The Circus and in Munich with Jettison were a succes but resulted in the departure of dDrummer and bass player again (What is it with drummers and bassists?). After a couple of odd gigs with no bass player and nearly a year of inactivity, the band was revitalised by the recruitment of Andy (x-Vasquez and Mellow) on bass and Björn (x-Polish and Roulez Relax) on drums. After quickly learning and in some cases improving (or finishing) some of the older songs thze band have been rapidly writing new material which has taken a slightly darker, more mature direction, without losing the signature wall of guitars and melody topped out with Stubi´s characteristic voice. The most recent recording sessions and new ones planned for th autumn of 2001 will result in a track on a millipede records compilation to be released during september and a sky promises rain mini-CD to be released towards the end of the year.
