Artist History
Phatcat, got involved in jungle/drum & bass music at the age of 16, earning his stripes playing at Therapy throughout early 1999, and at Anthem @ Parliament in 2000/2001. While known for smooth mixing and a blend of rough and soulful tunes playing at clubs and raves(alongside the likes of Nicky Blackmarket, Dieselboy, Vinyl Syndicate and more), he has made it a point to showcase the non-dancefloor nature of breakbeat culture through numerous alternative venues such as cafes and art gallaries. Joining with MC Degree and Skoolee in early 2000 led to Subterranean Sound, which bred the first of many all-breakbeat events in 2001, "An Old School Jam". The summer of 2001 brought a new challange and new promise to his role as a DJ/Musician, constructing an audio backdrop to the 5 star Fringe hit "Metropolis Noir". Subterranean Sound's new Drum & Bass weekly, will be showcasing outside Canadian and international talent every couple of weeks. He has been producing for 6 months. |
