    Artist History
Jimmy Griswold captures the style of the artist in any type of music he attacks, from the warm tones of T-Bone Walker & BB King to the screaming sounds of Roy Buchanan, Jeff Beck& Stevie Ray Vaughn. Jimmy projects unparalled energy and feeling into his guitar work. He has Toured with the Drifter's and has opened for the likes of Ronnie Earle, George Thoroughgood, NRBQ,Dave Mason,Matt Murphy & most recently Tommy Castro. Since relocating to the Tampa Bay area from New England he has toured Europe with blues great Rock Bottom and has sideman for many Bay area bands. Jimmy's highly original but in the pocket style has made him a sought after musician in the bay area today. Therefore, it is recommended that one tries the Jimmy Griswold experience.......

    Press Reviews
Reviewer: Tom Hyslop - Blues Revue Magazine Jimmy Griswold cuts a guitar-intensive but song oriented disc. The Right Road (self-release)covers a lot of ground as Griz harmonizes leads over the funky "Nickel and Dimen'"shimers double-stops and spins out precise, adventurous lines above the deep groove of "Change in the Weather," shuffles straight Chicago blues on "Push Me," and positively rips, country-style, on the "The Letter" and "Hit It." He pulls out all the stops on a harrowing tribute to Roy Buchanan, "Blues for Roy." "Griswold's singing upholds the high standard of his playing. Energetic CD Reviewer: Norman Davis -- Suncoast Blues Society Jimmy plays with the ease and style of a guy who's spent a lot of nights in front of a crowd. He segues from jump to soul to blues on the album, showing a lot of good influences, including Duane Allman and Roy Buchanan. His tribute to Buchanan, Blues for Roy, is a treat. You might think Roy was back. Griswold is also an excellent song writer. A Killer CD Reviewer: Donny O'beirne Great writing and great musicianship make this CD a real standout. The only way to make these tunes sound better, is to hear them performed live by Jimmy. baddest up coming blues guitar player in the world!!!!! A TRUE FLORIDA FAVORITE NOW THE WORLD WILL HEAR HIM PLAY Reviewer: Hodad Glenn THE TRACK , BLUES FOR ROY IS A SPECIAL TRIBUTE AND JIMMY PAYS HOMAGE TO THE MASTER. ALSO A LIL' DANNY GATTON MAYBE. Reviewer: Seth Heducaster That album kicks out the jams.He must have a lot of talent and loined to play with some bad mother*&^%$$#@^*(##@^'s Excellent performance and originality from a real up and comer !!! Reviewer: Johnny Greenwell Short and sweet...this dude rocks! Lots of posers in this genre, and Jimmy takes them to task as well as making a niche of his own with the big guitarslingers. Evidence of his Buchanan influences abound, and Roy lives in Jimmys'signature cut. Do yourself a favor, and slap the leather for this one. You won't be disappointed.
