Artist History
Originally from the county of Essex in the U.K., Luke arrived in LA in the middle of 1993 where, he at once fell into the rave scene, spinning at parties for major rave production companies like Next Step and CPU 101. Also landing guest slots at legendary weeklies like Family Groove, Sketchpad and Metropolis. Holding down deck duties with residencies at Louis XIV (AKA The Ambient Lounge) and Karma/TIME (held in Prince's renovated Glam Slam club in downtown LA) it wasn't long before he stated incorporating some of the drum and bass vibe into his already eclectic sets. For the last four years, Luke was the Music Director for Moxie! The Santa Monica Film Festival, becoming their resident disc jockey/music coordinator and setting up the "Party" side of the festival. He had his own weekly radio show on cyberradiotv.com, hosted an electronic music video show called "Breaking Point TV" preceding MTV's "Amp" by a couple of years.
In May, of 2001, Luke relocated to San Antonio, TX where he has been locked up in a raging fit of sobriety producing tracks under the new alias of Gunslinger Keep an eye on Jungle Voodoo Recordings for a rare appearance on vinyl later this year. He also plans on having his DJ promotional company "Gunslingin' DJ's" up and running by the end of the year with views of bringing the unique vibe of the Los Angeles jungle scene and it's many talented DJ's and producers out eastwards ...
Luke has played alongside top industry names like Sasha, Taylor, Juan Atkins, Roger Sanchez, Frankie Bones, Simply Jeff, Electric Skychurch, Skylab 2000, UFO, Keoki, Armand Van Heldon, Uberzone, Nigel Richards, Ron D Core, Sandra Collins, Christopher Lawrence and Freak Chakra vs. Single Cell Orchestra.
