Artist description Complicate was formed in January 2001 in Fredonia, NY where, after several run-ins with local authorities due to noise ordinance [no clue why, but they're gonna get us "next time"] they decided to move everything to Rochester, NY. The music of complicate can be summed up in three words: Focus, Tension, Release. The music concentrates on well-formed builds, and extreme tension, ultimately released with equally extreme intensity. You can find the influences of many genres in the music of Complicate. Layered, flowing melody lines mixed with complex meter and thick chord structure lays the foundation for much of the group's material. The group has shared the stage with regional acts such as Loopus, 40oz Failure, Stemm, Blind Identity, Inherence and Omniblank. The group has also been a welcome guest on the stage with national acts such as The Used [Warner Bros.], 36 Crazy Fists [Roadrunner Records] and Erase The Grey [Universal]. Native to the Western NY scene, the group has been receiving overwhelmingly positive reviews nationwide via exposure of their music online at mp3.com and garageband.com.
