Artist History Bigbangbaby is a finnish rockband,living in Helsinki,formed in january 2001.Actually the first idea of the band began to shape in Anthonys mind in december 2000 after the decision to brake up Celestial bodies,another finnish rockband.The reasons for the brake up were merely of the unsatisfactory relationships between Anthony and the singer of the CB. And as there were no musical disagreements Anthony asked Matti,the drummer of CB,if he was interested in continuing on a new band,in which Anthony would be the singer and the first idea consisted also two guitarists and of course a bassplayer.And Anthony also decided to concentrate totally on singing and hand over guitarplaying to other guys. So this gets us to the other guys,who fortunately happened to be closer than he could imagine.Hannu-Pekka,or should we say Hape had been Anthonys friend for some time,and when he heard that Hape plays guitar and that he was looking for a band to play in he decided to ask if Hape was interested in joining the band.And as you see he was.Hape had earlier played in a band called Cry More,a band living in Rovaniemi which is a city in northern Finland,and when Hape moved to Helsinki,the capital of Finland,it seemed to get too difficult to continue in Cry More. The idea of two guitarists was cancelled and now the band was almost complete,only the lack of bassplayer had to be solved.So Anthony knew one guy who happened to know Skou,a bassplayer who already played in two bands,Saha and Bloody Hell,but being a virile and hard-boiled guy he was however interested in joining the band. So the band was ready to start rehearsals and they decided to start with playing some cover songs,actually Stone Temple Pilots songs,mostly from the STP Purple album. Also the band tried some Celestial bodies songs but in a couple of weeks some new Bigbangbaby songs were ready and after that band has concentrated only for new songs composed just for this band and in the end of May 2001 BBB went to studio to record 5 songs which are now available for listening.So it has been quite fast progress when you think that band started practically from zero and after 5 months they have made a democd which sounds like they´ve played together for years.But as always:there´s more to come…
