Artist History The original style was very influenced by the 80's rock in the sense of ballads and seven minute songs, but yet maintaining a signature sound of their own. The Band progresed musically growing stronger & stronger with each live performance but like most bands there were turbulent lessons to be learnt resulting in Pat leaving due to family commitments ,Dave eventually leaving to persue other avenues in music & sent the band into hiding to put itself back together again.This is where Chris Meyer came in on drums, Sean Leary on vocals & Nicci Lotter Playing Bass. Which is one the best things that could of happened for the band at that point. Alan took time off to rest and the rest of the band carriend on working together on the basis of the way the band has always worked. Then it seemed to happen again Nicci got an offer from caffeine substitute a more ear pleasing band with more radio appeal. Colin Brown who then joined use to play with Chris in a band named Dark Millenium so we were all fimiliar and got on with the work at hand the best we could. The bands first gig was the Battle of the Bands @ The Bat Centre in 2001. The band showcased for family and friends at that gig and got a very very warm response for work that was put into the performance.

They loud and wild yet have a stage preformance that makes one sit up and notice. Sutherland was by far the more "in tune" bands that played at the concert . feeding off the crowds and returning an energy that felt professional and awe inspiring. Sutherland might just be South Africas next big one.
