Artist History
The band "Orange Crush" was originally formed in Southern California in December 1998. The founding members met while studying at the prestigious Musicians Institute in Hollywood. The first lineup consisted of Johannes Stole; lead vocals and keyboards, Peter Hogberg; lead vocals and acoustic guitar, Daniel Palmqvist; background vocals and electric guitar, Mikkel Heimburger; bass and Svend Lerche; drums. This version of the band recorded a demo, and one of the songs, "Giving It Up" was accepted on the compilation album "MI Jams".
After completing his studies, Peter Hogberg left the group, as he wanted to move back to Sweden. At this point, the main creative force in the band consisted of Johannes Stole and Daniel Palmqvist, whom, with the invaluable help and musical input of Mikkel and Svend, completed an EP named "Ophelia". This project revealed a growing musical maturity for the band, taking them to a higher level. Featuring Johannes as the only lead singer, the new material gives him a lot of space for his impressive vocal ability and interesting background vocal arrangements. Though they've not changed their style drastically from "catchy" Pop/Rock tunes, the direction reveals a broader palette of influences.
After relocating to Sweden in the summer of 2001, the latest edition of "Orange Crush" consists of Johannes Stole, Daniel Palmqvist and their longtime friend Max Flovik on bass. Max is also an MI graduate and brings an exiting new sound to the band. At this time, the group has decided to collaborate with different drummers.
"Orange Crush" continues to develop their sound and they are currently writing new music for an upcoming full-length album.

DEMO CDR-ORANGE CRUSH (DEMO CDR)
ORANGE CRUSH is a hot new band from Norway and they sound very close to other Scandi Westcoast AOR bands such as HIGHER GROUND, LAVA and PROMOTION. There are 5 songs on the disc and especially the first 2 tracks are very impressive. The vocals are very good and remind me of FREDDY CURCI! Opener "Losing it without you" is a good semi AOR ballad like a mix between FERIE FREDERIKSEN and FREDDY CURCI. Next track "Can't believe it" rocks things up a bit, because this is a very nice uptempo westcoast AOR rocker a la TOTO. The last 3 songs are a bit disappointing unfortunately, namely "Ophelia", "The way" and "What I came here for" are all 3 poppy ballads. Nevertheless, this band has definitely some quality to offer. Check them out if you like any of the mentioned acts. More info at: http://www.orangecrushmusic.com and e-mail them at: simplyjohs@hotmail.com or dannepalmqvist@hotmail.com
