Artist description
A natural performer, Annie's powerful vocals and strong acoustic guitar rhythms create a captivating stage energy that doesn't quit. Combine that with Rod's slinky guitar work and the result is an appealing groovy, folk rock blend of dynamic and thoughtful acoustic music. |

Artist History
No strangers to the Detroit area rock stages, Annie and Rod each have a multitude of bands in their sordid past, first joing forces in 1983. Both Capps' carried on over the years with their respective bands - covering the musical gamut from "War Pigs" (Black Sabbath) to "LoverGirl" (Tina Marie). Late 1995 found them hooking up with a few exceptional Ann Arbor musicians to form the modern rock cover band, Foolish Mortals. This lively, hard working band acquired a respectable following, and became a popular choice for regular rotation at popular clubs in the southeastern Michigan area. With the creative juices flowing, in 1997, Annie picked up the guitar again and began writing. In the fall of 1999, while performing under the name Roxanne, Annie and Rod released "A Thousand Pictures" on their own label (Maynard Music). Roxanne was nominated for two Motor City Music Awards (Outstanding Acoustic/Folk Recording and Outstanding Acoustic Instrumentalist for Rod) the following year. With the release of their second album titled "The Wrong Shoes", Annie and Rod are focused, driven and, at last, feeling like they're on the right track. Dropping the pseudonym, this album will be released under the name Annie Capps. A |
