    Artist History
It wasn't until 2003 that things really got going for The Desktop Heroes. After about a year and half of playing, writing, and recording half-assed songs with various lineups, it was time for something new. Something different, that was new and fresh. After releasing their surprisingly successful debut EP (originally intended to be a full length), former guitarist and vocalist Bill Crawford suddenly left Desktop Heroes. After leaving in the midst of recording the EP and two weeks before the CD release show, Desktop Heroes looked sunk. In came Brennan Quenneville of One Too Many. Sure he was only temporary, but he filled the gap, allowing DTH to continue on, before they gave up all hope. Busy with high school and his other band, Brennan would later leave, after roughly five months with the band. Brennan was a good replacement, but was not what DTH needed. It wasn't until six days before two upcoming shows that DTH had finally found what they needed. The band had practiced with Evan Anselmo a few days prior to the big "risk". Things went well, but playing old DTH songs didn't make the cut. Even bringing back the old faster punk songs didn't feel right. Then one day, six days before a show, Jim visited Bob at worked, saying that we had been asked to play Novi-Palooza 2, that Bob got this whacked idea. Two new members, one old member. In came Evan Anselmo to play lead guitar and Caroline Lampinen on vocals. Caroline and Bob had recently recorded an acoustic EP entitled 'I Thought I Was Over This'. Bob played guitar and Caroline sang. The EP contained six brand new songs Bob had written. Due to lack of time, Bob suggested that he played guitar (even though he's a bass player), since he wrote all the songs and knew them all. So we had two guitarists, a drummer, and a vocalist. In need of a bassist, we searched out for an ex-member, Colin Floyd, who had newly discovered his bass playing ability in various failed projects. We added him on bass and used his throat as a piercing weapon to add screams to our beloved acoustic songs. In less than six days, the "test" version of Desktop Heroes had learned six brand new songs, in full band form. We had taken the basic acoustic versions, added lead guitar riffs, vocal harmonies, new lyrics, and plenty of musical breakdowns, creating the six best songs the band had ever written, in less than a week's time. The band knew they had something special. The chemistry had never felt so right. The band soon looked forward to practices like they used to look forward to shows. 5 kids, still in high school, ranging from ages 15-17, have thrown together what used to be a 'generic boring pop-punk band' and transformed it into a 'female fronted melodicore machine'. Playing four shows within two weeks of forming, as well as recording a brand new demo, things have never been better for these five kids from a boring life in a boring town (yes, they are from the town that Less Than Jake sings about). With so much youth and potential, this band is destined to go far. Determination and hard work are finally starting to pay off for these kids. Opening for bands like Dumbstruck, Before I Go, 9miles2go, Half the Battle, The Heroes Reborn, and many more Desktop Heroes have recently taken the local area by storm. With two summer tours in the works as well as shows with larger, signed bands, Desktop Heroes are finally headed in the right direction. These kids love playing shows, they love hanging out, but most of all they love music. They love playing music with each other. They hope that other people like it too. The band knows with hard work, patience, and determination, things will pay off, and they will eventually be falling into place, Finch style.
