Artist History
Formed in 1995 RAMBIS began as the punk/metal trio GOLDLEADER with Rick on guitar, Steve on bass, and Tony mercilous on drums. The first sounds were heard throughout San Marcos, courtesy of Tony’s garage. As the band progressed, a new bass player was highjacked from the punkmeisters The ROPERS. The addition of Jesse was the catalyst for the band as Steve was left to concentrate on vocals. At the request of local law enforcement, the band relocated to a new garage in Escondido.
With their sound beginning to take shape, GOLDLEADER became RAMBIS, and a new musical style unheard in the hum-drum of San Diego bands began to evolve. Once again at the request of Johnnie Law, RAMBIS took their sound into the studio. Landing at the world famous DML Studios in Escondido in late 1998, after 3 + years honing their craft in the garage, work began on what would become their debut album.
Engineered by the infamous Don Lithgow, RAMBIS self-titled debut album became reality in September 2000. On sale now at Music Trader locations throughout North County, Sam Goody’s, and Lou’s Record’s, or shop online @Interpunk.com, in the local music section. RAMBIS began playing live shows in 1998 and has since played at venues The Belly Up Tavern, The Escondido Street Fair, 'Canes in Mission Beach, The Epicenter in Mira Mesa , Brick By Brick in Morena Park, |
