Artist description
Peter Sulski, violist, began his musical studies on the violin at the age of eight. At sixteen, he switched to the viola under the tutelage of Mary Lou Speaker Churchill of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. He then went on to study with Atar Arad at the Eastman School of Music, receiving a Bachelor of Music degree in 1990. Whilst at Eastman, he was awarded the Performer's Certificate, the school's highest performing distinction. Since then, Mr Sulski has performed extensively as a concerto soloist and recitalist in the United States as well as in Canada, England, Germany, Romania, Poland and Russia. Recent appearances have included performing the Walton Concerto with the Eastman Philharmonia and the Telemann Concerto with the St Petersburg Chamber Orchestra. Other activities have included a period as Artist-in-Residence at the Banff Centre for the Arts, where he performed chamber music with the likes of Gilbert Kalish, pianist of the Boston Symphony Chamber Players, and Thomas Brandis, former concert master of the Berlin Philharmonic. Mr Sulski has also held a fellowship at the Tanglewood Music Center, where he was principal violist under Leonard Bernstein, and has appeared at the IMS Open Chamber Music Festival in Prussia cove, Cornwall. As an educator, Mr Sulski has founded the Brighton Youth Chamber Music Scheme and is an active member of the London Symphony Orchestra's Education Department, having toured extensively with Judith Bingham's "Red Hot Nail". He has created a pilot scheme in St Petersburg in order to aid young Russian musicians and is in residence at St Petersburg University four weeks per annum. He is Co-Artistic Director of Concerts at the Chapel Royal, Brighton, and Westgate Chapel,Lewes, and Artistic Director of Netting Hill Concerts. He is also currently a visiting tutor to the Apple Hill Center for Chamber Music and the Royal College ofMusic. Other activities include chamber music collaborations with guitarist Paul Gregory, pianist Gwendolyn Mok, the Chamberlain Ensemble, of which he is a founder- member, and
an annual solo series at the Brighton International Music Festival.

Violinist Beth Ilana Schneider-Gould made her debut at the age of sixteen as soloist with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. She has performed throughout the United States including the Kennedy Center and Carnegie Hall, and has toured Europe with Sir George Solti and the Schleswig Holstein Festival Orchestra. Beth has performed chamber music with many renowned artists including Lynn Harrell and Yefim Bronfman, and has participated in the Los Angeles Philharmonic Institute, the Sarasota Chamber Music Festival, and the Meadowmount School of Music. A graduate of Indiana University and the University of Arizona, her teachers have included Linda Cerone, Victor Danchenko, Eugene Gratovich, Conny Kiradjieff, Andreas Reiner, Mark Rush, and Nelli Shkolnikova. Beth is a former member of the Tucson Symphony,San Antonio Symphony Orchestra, and the Arizona Opera. Active in new music, Beth has commissioned several
works for violin and piano. Currently on faculty at the Eastern Mediterranean University in Cyprus.
Matt Gould is a guitarist paving the way for classical guitarists to come by focusing his talents and abilities on chamber music for guitar. He has performed with the Peabody Camerata under the baton of Gene Young, the New Music Ensemble with composer Dan Welcher, and the Arizona Contemporary Music Ensemble under Dan Asia premiering new chamber works by such notable composers as Tania Leon, Ollie Wilson, Mario Davidovsky, and Luigi Nono. Matt is a recipient of many honors including a Rotary Scholarship, a Peabody Fellowship Award, and Hos Award for excellence in guitar performance. In addition, he has received prizes/awards in the Stotsenberg International Guitar Competition, Norman Sholin Memorial Guitar Competition, Schafer International Guitar Competition, and the Guitar Foundation of America's Solo Guitar Competition. He has taught guitar at the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University and the University of Arizona. Matt records for Guitar Plus Records whose mission is to promote, perpetuate, and enrich new chamber music for guitar. He received his Bachelor of Music degree from the Peabody Conservatory of Music with E.M.I. recording artist Manuel Barrueco, and his Master of Music degree from the University of Arizona with Tom Patterson. Matt is presently pursuing a Doctoral of Musical Arts degree in chamber music at Arizona State University with Frank Koonce. Currently on faculty at the Eastern Mediterranean University in Cyprus.r |
