Artist description
Catbaby's sound is inspired by composers such as Cole Porter and Gershwin as well as contemporary bands like The Gorillaz, Beck, B-52's, and anything we consider cool or groovy; known and unknown bands alike.
Laurie’s velvety voice echoes of a 21st century Shirley Bassey sung over hip grooves, creating a danceable riot of sound.
Her high caliber vocal is equal to the great singers of a lost era.

Artist History
Catbaby began in the spring of 2000 when Laurie Gordon met Mikey Benn at a London nightclub.
The two decided to get together and have an improvised studio session at Mikey's studio before Laurie returned to Montreal.
Their first experiment "Swim Swim" was written and recorded in less then three hours...whoa!
