Artist description
The Waxing Gibbous is a band dedicated to bringing you music
that is something you could listen to without wishing to throw yourself out of the highest available window.
The instrumentation in our songs is eighty to one hundred percent synthesized, and
so are we. With shades of El Blimpo and early They Might Be Giants, our
music is simple, entertaining, alterna-pop. Enjoy if you dare.

Artist History
The duo of Julian Cantella and Brian Hecht first appeared as the band
Royal Jelly, until they found that there already was
a Royal Jelly, headed by one member of the Bangles.
They were then briefly joined by Drummer Andy Reigner
and Multi-Instrumentalist Dan Christ and Bassist Dan Kish
and wrote and recorded under the immortal name "El Blimpo".
After the tragic break-up of El Blimpo, largely due to
artistic burnout, there was a short period of stagnance in which
no new material was written or recorded. In the summer of
2000 Brian and Julian formed the Waxing Gibbous. |
