Artist description
Just another band who stole our name from an episode of The Simpsons...
Sing-a-long melodies, strong harmonies and catchy rhythms are the basis of Kid Moe, the cheesiest band East of the San Francisco Bay Bridge. Tony Hicks, music journalist of the Contra Costa Times, described their music as, “Better-than-solid, Weezer-like power pop.” In addition to Weezer, Kid Moe is most influenced by other similar bands such as Green Day, Jimmy Eat World, and Ozma. Kid Moe has performed across the state of California at such venues as: Blake’s on Telegraph, The Pound in San Francisco, The Rooster’s Roadhouse in Alameda, The Oasis Teen Center in San Rafael, The Gaslighter in Gilroy, The Brown Bag in Modesto, The Garage in Los Angeles, The Groundzero Coffeehouse at U$C, Hi-Tech Unlimited in Fresno, The Concord Veteran’s Hall, The 2002 Colonel Moustache Festival, The Oakland Ice Center, Celebrity’s Caf in Dublin, Club 18 in San Francisco, The Vacaville Skating Center, Brainwash in San Francisco, Borders Books in Pleasanton and Pleasant Hill, Time Out Sports Bar in Concord, Pine Street Bar in Livermore, Arnie’s Time Out in Hayward, The Westchester Sports Bar and Grill, The Lafayette Town Hall Theater, and (the late great) Abernathy’s in Walnut Creek. |

Artist History
Guitarist/vocalist Vincent Lay (21), drummer Anna Kremenliev(18), and bassist/vocalist Kenny Garwood (25) formed Kid Moe in early 2001, as a project for a Diablo Valley College music theory/performance/business course under the instruction of professional guitarist Steve Sage. A second vocalist/guitarist, Jamie McCaghren (19) was added to the band shorty after its conception. With the help of this course, Kid Moe began to develop both a musical and commercial plan for the band. They recorded a their first demo in August 2001, followed by a full length album, “Missing Pieces,” released on Mole Day (October 23rd) 2002. To compliment the three-chord, melody-driven, “songs-about-girls” musical formula found on the “Missing Pieces” album, Kid Moe adopted an equally cheesy and gimmicky orange and white theme to the extramural aspects of the band, resulting in an eye-catching new uniform, logo, practice room, and webpage.
In March 2003, Kid Moe took their four-piece orange and white musical gimmick on tour to Southern California in a 1984 Dodge Caravan. Retuning home 10 days, 6 shows, and 2 parking tickets later, Kid Moe was still on speaking terms and ready to take their music to the next level. Keyboardist/vocalist/percussionist Keisuke Kato (19) was incorporated into the group in April 2003. Currently, Kid Moe continues to perform across the Bay Area, building a fan base with their orange-and-white brand of gimmicky, three-minute melodic pop-punk.
