Artist description
Born in L.A. & raised in Newport Beach, Dabney Jones spent years in the L.A. scene singing in a montage of bands while writing and recording side projects with several local talents. The 1990 very independent release "Dabney" received rave reviews & opportunities to appear on several local media venues. L.A.'s Music Scene coined Dabney's style as "Risky" & "Politically Incorrect". Unable to secure a meaningful agreement with perspective labels, Dabney & partner Marlon Mehr formed "Mrs. Merryweather", an edgy, rock acoustic trio that went on to be a favorite at local L.A. venues for those starved for something different. In 96' Dabney left Los Angeles, returning to San Francisco allowing him the distance to freely pursue crafting his libertarian leanings into a new, unusual, uninhibited sound. Meet DabneyJones. Spawning several styles all within one un-mistakable sound! Want Love? He's got it! Political Satire? Eschatology? Got that, too! Be sure to visit DabneyJones.com |
