Artist History
A-Bomb and Hype-one have both been rhyming since adolescence. A-Bomb also made beats for a few years, which is how they met. One day in Summer 97’ Hype was writing rhymes at home, and
decided it was time to record a demo. He had skills, but no tracks and turned to the internet to look
for some dope producers. He checked out putmeon.com, saw A-Bomb’s tracks and emailed him.
Bomb put together a few joints, shipped them out, and they talked on the phone long distance –
Bomb from Atlanta and Hype from Mass – since then. They battled, talked shit, and played songs
for each other, but it never truly clicked until… 117H.
In April, A-Bomb returned from drug rehab (a whole ‘nother story), and was living at home in
Atlanta with no direction. Hype was still in Mass, writing, recording and shopping his demo and had
gotten a phone call from a management company in Atlanta saying that they were feeling his shit and
wanted him to come down to ATL. So – it was only natural they moved in together – at apartment
117H in Bristol Pointe in Norcross, GA. It was both they’re first times living in an apartment, and
some wild ass shit went down that Summer. Mostly Sex, Drugs, and Hip Hop, but the result of our
combined experiences made this project – aptly named 117H. |
