This is the first time I have heard of this band. Opening
with "Control" (3:40) they deliver some gritty metallic hard
rock. I liked the vocals--the lead singer Lisa Ginther has a
smooth feminine voice with an real rock edge. She reminds me a
bit of the lead singer from a 1980s metal positive music act.
Also somewhat like the female voice from REZ.
"Fallin' Sky" is textured rock with acoustic ballad-like
number. It exudes a classic rock sense somehow reminiscent of
HEART vocals in places. This foursome can tone down the sounds
and allow some nuanced music to shine. The lyrics are powerful as
well. Next on "Dirty Spoon" (3:24) they get down and play some
dirty, bluesy metal almost white-noised stuff. This is powerful
material. Positive rock with an attitude, very impressive. I will
be surprised if they aren't picked up by a major label as they
display lots of talent.
I liked the modern rock meets electronic metal edges of
"Saving Grace" (2:55), a very solid effort. This cut has a very
unique feel to it. The CD (EP) ends with a mellower track titled
"Rocks Cry Out" (3:49), this song should find favor with the
mellower formats, as it is a praise tune, a prayer of sorts but
in that rock ballad style. The music here has an authentic
classic rock sense. This is a strong EP demo album, which I think
will open doors. Check them out.
