Artist History That well-worn road from Lubbock to Austin brought Sky Malone to the Austin music scene ten years ago. From modest beginnings on the fringe of his father's Saturday night home-grown country bluegrass jams, Sky has evolved his voice and style into that of a Texas troubadour - part songwriter, part performer, part missionary; in short, another future Austin music legend. From his early beginnings at the Chicago House to his current interest in developing a live, Austin-style version of the Gong Show, Sky continues to grow his music, his message and his following. Wednesday nights usually find Sky at Loco Maria's, an eclectic outdoor venue in the heart of the original Austin music scene, where he presides over his south Austin-style talent show. If you can't make it to south Austin on Wednesday to catch the show or Sky's live-wire local performances, you can still be part of the audience. Sky's latest release, Texas Boy, is his gift to those who are not fortunate enough to live in the Live Music Capital of the World. This project began as a dream eleven years ago, which is only fitting, since Sky brings together an original Austin dream team on this eleven-song recording. David Grissom, guitar-slinger extraordinaire, is featured on lead guitar, along with Riley Osbourn, a 30-year veteran who pounds the keys for Jerry Jeff and Willie and the Boys in his spare time.
