Artist History Back in the day, a group of friends were chillin' at the local mall when they noticed an attractive woman walking in front of them. The group commented to one another about how beautiful the woman was...until she turned around, revealing a rather ugly face. "What a Butterface," one friend remarked. Confused, another friend innocently asked, "Why is she a Butterface?" the response to which was: "Everything is nice, but her face!" At that moment, the yet-unnamed DJ Butterface realized what he should call himself. DJ Butterface began recording techno tracks, to amuse his friends, from his Brooklyn based studio, Baz-A-Mataz. He began playing his music at parties and watched the crowd eat it up. Soon people were approaching DJ Butterface for copies of his music, and much to his delight, some tracks were even played at local strip clubs. "I try to write fun techno that will make people smile, dance and have a good time," DJ Butterface explains. "It's all about making everyone feel good at a party. If I can do that, then I've accomplished my mission." Being an active video game freak, DJ Butterface was honored when he landed his track, "Time Killer" in the PlayStation2 game, "Extreme G3," a futuristic motorcycle racing game, and has several tracks pending release in others. In April '02, DJ Butterface debuted an original score to the New York premier of Don Nigro's "Quint and Miss Jessel At Bly". Now, DJ Butterface looks to butter up some record label execs to find a home for his music while he single handedly spreads the love to other forms of media. If all else fails, at least he knows the strip clubs love him.
