Artist description
Ever wonder what it would have sounded like if Buddy Holly had lived longer and collaborated on an album with Woody Guthrie sometime in the mid 60's? The revoulutionary rebllious stylings of Holly on guitar combined with the lyrical genious of Guthrie would have rocked the music world in a way that had never been seen. Flash ahead 40 years and meet Ryan Case and Ed Puckett. Puckett, born in honalulu, Hawaii, brings his honest and soulful guitar licks and songwriting to this Auburn, Alabama based band. Ryan Case adds his own unique acoustic guitar playing with an intelligent songwriting ability seldom seen in popular music. The band composed of Case, Puckett, Eric Thackston on Bass, and Paul White on drums, was formed in late 2000. Bye Friday has been hailed by critics as a form of rock that is incomparable. Bringing in may influences from Country, Rock, Blues, Jazz, Punk, and Folk Music to create there own emo-Americana sound. Drawing from the backwood southern poetic feels of Hank Williams to the straight ahead three chord power jams of Green Day. The band is currently touring in support of their single "Dry County" with a full length EP due out in either late summer or early fall 2001.

*Ryan Case* Ryan was the front man and chief songwriter for Speak Easy, a country rock band formed while still in high school in Huntsville, AL. The band released 2 cd's each of original music. Sold at shows and through consignment at local record stores, the band gained a small but dedicated following. The band is currently on an indefinate hiatus while Ryan pursues his music with Bye Friday *Ed Puckett* Ed was the front man and chief songwriter for the punk-rock band Jailbait, from 97-99 when the band split diffrent directions. Before the disbanding, the band released 2 cd's of original music, each selling well and gaining them a following on the punk rock scene of Huntsville. As Jailbait went their seperate ways, Ed helped form Loveless Crown, an alternitve rock band. Ed was lead guitar player and main songwriter in this highly successful band. In their short time together, they produced an EP of 12 songs and sold all 1000 copies pressed. They were the opening act for Train, 3 Doors Down, and Kenny Wayne Sheppard before going there seprate ways in the fall of 2000. *Eric Thackston* Eric has played bass since the age of 11. He was a member of various garage bands as well as a marching band drummer in high school. His musical influences are as varied as the man himself. His first band, Negative Norman, was a short lived mix of many different styles ranging from Smashing Pumpkins to the Violent Femmes. He comes from a very musical family with both of his brothers playing bass in local bands. Eric played bass with Speak Easy in the fall of 2000 right before the decison for the band to take a break was made. *Paul White* Paul is the multi-talented drummer and sometimes-bass player of Johnny Whishbone and the Gravities. The band played at Big Spring Jam in September of 1999 and released 1 cd of original music. They also have a young dedicated following of fans in the Huntsville area. Paul also comes from an extremely musical family, his brother, Ben, is in JWG with him. Paul White is truly a muti-instramentalist skilled at playing the drums, bass, guitar, and piano.
