Artist History
The Barrel Dodgers were formed in the beginning of 2001, as an experimental project. Cory Scrivner and Morrison had been playing together for 8 years prior in different projects (Riptide & Jive Cocktail), one of which included Dave Tilsner (Jive Cocktail). Todd Strunk was added for this project. Cory's musical background exists of family hoots were Folk, Bluegrass, and Honky Tonk music were gold. This can be heard in much of the music that The Barrel Dodgers write and perform. Pat Morrison hailed from the school of Chuck Berry guitar and showcased this talent most in a project he called "The Grunion." This can be heard in the 50's Bee Bop songs Pat has written over the years. Dave Tilsner grew up in the heart of the music scene in L.A. Here Dave learned the meaning of Soul Music. Just watch Dave, and you will see soul oozing out of him. Todd Strunk came from the country town of Lemoore, CA where he was raised on country music. As of now, The Barrel Dodgers have recorded one album. It is a 9 song cut entitled "the Loni Years." This is a lyrical masterpiece that can best be related to the early years of a good Burt Reynolds movie. The Barrel Dodgers are already working on the writing of their next album, which should be out some time late this year. |
