Artist History As the way many bands are formed, SSG rose out of the demise of two other groups. Steve Sizemore and Brett Parker had enjoyed years of success with Contagious. After the band broke up, Steve and Brett went on to record two songs for the KAOL KISS tribute series and began working on a new album, but had yet to complete the band with another guitar player and drummer. Meanwhile, Fredi Handshoe and Dave Browning had spent a couple of years in the band Goin' Blind. After their project ended, Fredi and Dave began searching for a new guitarist and bassist. After several failed auditions, the two ended up doing virtually the same thing as Steve and Brett. Steve and Dave had been friends for years. Fredi was also acquainted with Steve and Brett from previous shows that each band had played together. They had discussed getting together and playing for several months, but nothing had materialized. Once the guys did get together, instant chemistry was present and everything fell into place. Things started to look up from there. The first show the band played together was in front of 4000 plus fans at Rupp Arena in Lexington, KY during one of the last Ky Thoroughblades games. And so, the saga continues...........WE ARE BACK!
