Artist description
Skinwash Inc. is a way of expression.
It's a statement.
It's a way for me to deal with my troubles and all the shit around me.
It is my extended middle finger to the world.
It's the sound of the chaos inside of me.
It's the dead melody.
And I’m ready to deliver it to the world!

Artist History
I started Skinwash Inc. in 1998 in Uppsala/Sweden.
I had just left my previous punk-rock band "Solitude"
and wanted to play something heavier and closer to my heart.
Our first gig was a local band contest and
we made it to the finals, but came second because
the jury thought that having a dildo on stage was
a bit too much.
The make up, the clothing, the explosive aggression
and the anguish we managed to reflect on stage
made Skinwash Inc. quite known and locally popular
band. After recording the first demo "Sulfur",
Skinwash was now playing several successful gigs
around Uppsala. In the summer of '99 it was time
to get in to the studio once again, the result
was 11-tracked "Sores". This demo sounded nothing
like anyone in the band had expected. Most of the
songs were good and we had developed as a band and
as musicians. But at the same time it openly showed
us that we all wanted to do different things.
So we decided to go separate ways.
I decided to continue with Skinwash Inc., because
it was my band, my vision and my concept and after
2 months I had a new 3-member line-up. The music
was now finally what I wanted to do from the beginning.
After a couple of weeks from the first rehearsal
we had our first gig. I wanted to show people that
Skinwash Inc. was now even better and harder then
ever. End of the summer of 2000 we started recording
a new demo and this time we did all by ourselves.
It took a bit longer then what we had in mind and
had a lot of trouble to get the vocals right. So
we turned to Örjan Örnkloo who played the guitar
in Misery Loves Co. The result was "Circle One".
After releasing this demo on the net we got huge
respond from all over the world and a couple of
record labels showed interest, but I thought the
timing wasn't right for a record deal so we kept
on rehearsing and writing new songs.
Beginning of 2002 things got slow, (even though
the interest in Skinwash Inc. was growing from
every direction) we weren't getting anything done.
Some of us were having hard time in our personal
lives and there were conflicts between band members
as well. I guess in the end we simply lost the
track to our goal and weren't sharing the same
vision anymore...
This is when I decided to move to Gothenburg and
continue Skinwash Inc. as a solo project.
My personal life was a mess and the only thing
keeping me in Uppsala was the band. I needed to
move along and find my own way. It was obvious
from the start of this project that I was destined
to do this by my own. If you want something get
done right, you gotta do it yourself, right?
I started recording the next demo all by myself,
wrote and recorded over 30 songs but wasn't satisfied
with anything. I started over and over again,
took my time, wrote songs and worked on the sound.
After all frustration, all work and mixing the
result was "The Project Mayhem", finally I managed
to come up and complete something I was happy with.
Considering the quality of the equipment I used
for recording this demo I knew I was never going
to reach perfection. This was closest I could get
to satisfied. I guess what I'm most proud of is
that I've done everything by myself, from riffs
to mastering.
