Artist History
Gray·son \'gra·sun\ noun 1: a five piece rock band out of Minneapolis, MN 2: greater than parts of Jason Paulson, Michael Gleason, Nate O'Connor, Matt Gray and Bill Radintz 3: a raucous party just waiting for the stage lights to come up 4: a revival of unpretentious rock and roll 5: an opportunity to respond to coworkers with bloodshot eyes and a hoarse throat just what you did last night...
Grayson is a band to watch for in the coming months! Building off two years of great live shows, a fast-growing fan base, and two successful demo EP's, Grayson is excited to present their newest EP this summer of 2002.
With this new EP, entitled GRAYSON three, the band wanted to show off their roots influences and impress you with their unique vision of the Minnesota Americana sound. The guys assembled a collection of original songs with that great midwestern sound and feel missing since the departure of such local greats as The Gear Daddies. Many Grayson songs, particularly the first track 5 Days, have resonated with Martin Zellar's still strong and growing fan base.
The rock-solid harmonies you hear on Sail Away and Victoria aren't studio tricks. In fact, the vocal depth of Grayson doesn't stop with great 4-part harmonies; the four vocalists are all lead singers in their own rights. Lead singing changes from song to song, and sometimes even during. None of the "they're good, but it starts to sound the same."
To hear Grayson is just a beginning. The band truly shines in its home environs, in front of an audience! Not merely satisfied with getting some playing time or warming a room, Grayson treats every gig as their most important show, and THE place to be that night! Clubs all over the Twin Cities and beyond have asked for Grayson to play and clamored for them to keep coming back. People drag their family and friends down to the next show… "You've got to see these guys!"
Grayson puts on the same caliber of honest, straightforward, fun, "of course we'll have two more pitchers" performances as some of the great locals acts they played with this past year including Tim Mahoney, Dazy Head Mazy, Martin Zellar and GB Leighton. Grayson is a fresh and unique sound that brings new energy to the local watering holes.
When radio figures out whether Ryan Adams is Alt-Rock or Alt-Country, Grayson will be right there with the unpretentious Americana songs that the listeners will eat up too. Whether you want an opening band to start the night and ease the house into a frenzy of good times, or a headlining band to play all night and close the place down, Grayson should be your first call. |
