Artist History
The LaSalle-Peru band Undermine began as a project co-created by drummer Jason Mancini, and rhythm guitar player Jim Thomas. Under the former name Hedfirst along side lead guitar player Matt Plochocki, bassist Randy LeDeuc, and vocalist Jay Repsel, Hedfirst started playing the Illinois Valley bar scene in December of 2000. Due to creative differences in late December, bassists Eric Kalina replaced LeDeuc. He gave the group a whole new life and it seemed now they were ready. The band was a big hit for the first few months until they noticed a drastic drop in attendance at their shows. After the loss of the fan base, it was time for the group to realize what they were truly missing. In May, Jay Repsel and Hedfirst parted ways and new Lead Singer Mark Lorden took the mic. Since then the band has changed their name to undermine, and have been battling back and re-earning the respect from their fans again. Now they are one of the Illinois valleys biggest draws, and their fan base is continuing to grow and grow to this day.
The new line-up consists of:
Jason Mancini(drums)-16 years playing
Matt Plochocki(Lead Guitar)-2 years playing
Eric Kalina(Bass)-4 years playing
Jim Thomas(Guitar)-11 years playing
Mark Lorden(vocs)-5 years playing
