Artist History
Michael Stacey was born in the small southern town of Hahira, Georgia. Early in his childhood, he relocated to Southern Florida with his family. Showing an interest in music throughout his adolescence, Michael decided early on that a career as a musician was in his destiny. Shortly after high school, he purchased an acoustic guitar for fifty-dollars and began learning the basics of music. Michael was influenced by an array of performers, from traditional country artists such as George Jones and Alan Jackson, to popular rock, folk, and Motown acts of the 60's, 70's, and 80's. Using these elements, Michael began to develop his own style.
In his early twenties, Michael broke in his chops by playing local clubs in the South Georgia and South/Central Florida areas. After putting his career on hold for several years following the birth of his son, Michael returned to music in his late twenties to record his first studio demo. Some months later, Michael took the advice of a Record executive, and traveled to Nashville, Tennessee.
While developing his talent, Michael reunited with his initial demo producer, Barry Best (Air Force's Tops in Blue) to begin coordinating the production on what would become Michael's first marketable project. Several months later, with the guidance of Best, Michael began to record the earliest tracks of the current album, "After the Storm."
During the final "Storm" sessions, producer/songwriter Rich Herring helped to add the finishing touches to this debut effort. "It was a great experience. We had a wonderful time producing the album, and I think that everyone will be happy with the finished product," said Stacey. Michael's debut album, "After the Storm" was released in early July 2001.
Michael has since been busy promoting his music heavily. In summer of 2001, Michael embarked on a 54-station radio tour of the Southeast. After the great success of the radio tour, Michael then set out to capture his live audience. Michael has played various venues including Stars and Cars where an audience of thousands saw him kick off his "After the Storm" tour! Using various marketing tools from energetic live shows to the Internet, Michael has already accumulated a fan base of thousands!
