Artist description
New melodic alternative, top 40 texture, mood enhancing, electronic plus guitar, pop and rock.
It's all here. Instrumentation is tight and slick with acoustic guitars featured and eloquently
laced with atmospheric and incredibly tasteful(occationally edgey)electric guitar.
The vocals here, as one well known top 10 hit songwriter described, "...kick my ass".
The songwriting is first class, top 40 chart quality that leaves you humming the hooks for days.
LotusEye appeals to everyone from easy listeners to those with substantially harder tastes.
Keep your eye on LotusEye. It's just a matter of time for this artist.

Artist History
The musical force behind LotusEye is Scott Kovarik. Kovarik has worked with many top pros and bands in his career, but has said his greastest musical teachings
came from locking himself away in his Malibu, California home studio back in the late 80's/early 90's. For almost ten years Kovarik toiled away hours each and every day honing and perfecting
his clearly high end guitar playing, vocal style and slick production savvy. "...fortunately, at the time I had a mate who worked while I sat in my room with a four-track
all day just working out songs and experimenting with things...God bless her...I wish I knew what happened to her...when we split she just kind of disappeared...Wierd.", Kovarik says.
Strange and tragic circumstances brought Kovarik back to his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio in 1996. "I rolled into town with five bucks in my pocket. I learned alot in L.A.. I think I came through it
a more balanced, centered and happy person... I found myself there...I cut through the bullshit in myself in L.A.. Illusions hold no power over me anymore.", Kovarik now satifyingly reflects.
Although Kovarik plays with other musicians in loosely put together "bands" for fun, he chose to perform all instruments on this project himself. "I had to get this out of my system", he stated.
My next CD will probably have a mix of more live musicians." The only other performer on the CD "Reality Dust" is Steven Heiss. "I went to high school with Steve. It's funny..I remember
us jamming when I could barely play a bar chord.... when I came back to Cleveland Steve and I hooked up.... it just clicked. He has a great ear for harmony and lyrical structure and he did the background vocals on "She Is".
We're working on 3 or 4 new tunes right now." According to Kovarik, very little marketing or shopping has been done on this material so far. "I signed "She Is" to a film and TV company in California right out of the chute.
They do music for major network shows and films. They were drooling over the tune. I can opt out of the deal at any time and keep all ownership on the original...it's a win, win situation. I'm more attracted to writing than performing, so this is
perfect for me...and if things take off I could tour and play live if I wanted to. It doesn't matter to me either way
As long as I can create comfortably and people get something cool out of my music..I don't care what happens above and beyond that.
I don't need to be a star. I just want to be real and enjoy life." |
