Artist description
Kathy Zimmer's sound combines warm vocals with ornamentation and simple yet meaningful electric/acoustic guitar lines. Her songs range from those punk influenced to those folk influenced to the rest of the musical gamut, and her lyrics are both visually and literally inspired. Currently she's exploring a collaboration of the use of Cuban/South American-influenced beats in her music.

Artist History
Kathy pursued her musical muse in a classical vein so far as to receive a Master of Music from the Cleveland Institute of Music, but during those classical jaunts she never lost her basic inherited love of folk-style and rock-style music. Kathy's been a member of the New York antifolk scene since her arrival in NYC two years back. She's becoming a regular performing artist in the venues of New York, especially the east village. |

Press Reviews
"Kathy Zimmer's music and her unaffected trad folk voice harken back to a simpler time when idealistic folkies thought music could change the world. She's young and just starting up but as a singer...she could be our Baez."-Michael McHugh, New Century Productions |
