Artist History
I. Epstein has been been alive, through various incarnations since early 1990. The band has three full-length albums to its credit, including Cotton-Mouth, Circus 19, Fides et Historia, and is currently working on Adolescent Psychology, its fourth album.
The band has changed in some ways from the early nineties, in as much as they learned to play their instruments, developed a more skilled technique, and grew as artists. The early material was laced with the typical teen angst, and the music was hard, edgy, and sometimes neurotic.
As the band developed, the music became darker, more musically intricate, introspective, and isolated. It has only been in recent years that Butler and Voita have displayed more stylistic, though less technical musical expression. Many will find their dark power-pop a delight, and truly, Izzy Epstein is a true gem. |
