Artist History
An intense, thoroughly contemporary hard rock band, Drivelink consists of Mathew Daugherty (vocals), Deron Cain (guitar), Chad Stickel (bass) and Matthew Davis (drums). Originating in northern Virginia, the band started in 1998 as "Acetylene" and through personnel changes evolved into Drivelink. Drivelink's sound is a spectrum of views, ideas and music, staying rap-free and melodic yet still heavy and aggressive, delivering an emotionally charged kick to the head.
Drivelink's shows are visual and energy filled. This and their musical talent has earned them the respect of their peers which has landed them opening slots with varying touring acts such as King's X, Sevendust, Pro-Pain, Vanilla Ice, Testament, Overkill, Shotgun Messiah, Nevermore, DemonSpeed, One Minute Silence and Dave Brockie Experience.

Press Reviews
KING'S X / PODUNK / MICHAEL SHEPPARD GROUP / DRIVELINK
July 28, 2000; JAXX; Springfield, VA
Local favorites Drivelink opened the show knowing they only had 20 minutes to make an impression due to the power outages and other technical difficulties. Let's face it, having had no sound check during the technical difficulties could have doomed Drivelink to frustration; Drivelink, much to their credit, took the bull by the horns and gave it their best shot with four high energy songs. Drivelink's modern hard rock sound is rap-free yet still aggressive. It wouldn't be foolish for me to suggest that Drivelink would not be out of place on the OzzFest lineup next year as a solid addition to the second stage.
