ISWM INDIE PICK OF THE MONTH -
by Independent Songwriter Web Magazine www.independentsongwriter.com Rating: 10
ISWM INDIE PICK OF THE MONTH - What a powerful album! It's hard to believe that a major label hasn't snatched these guys up already.
The whole album is mixed well enough to hear every single note. Jason Merritt's passionate vocals combined with the musical dynamics of Sam Solis and Mike Waterman, bring this disc into the realm of utter ecstasy. There's no other way.......you MUST have this one for the collection.
THE GLOBAL MUSE/MUSIC DISH (www.theglobalmuse.com)
By Michael Allison, The Global Muse/ Music Dish
If you like bands like Live or early STP, you're gonna love Cryin Blue Wine. This band cooks in every way, shape, and form. The vocals are the aspect of this band that caught my attention first. Jason Merritt has a vocal style that was built for rock music. CBW are not really one of those depressing alternative rock bands, but a solid modern rock outfit that can kick out some serious tunes. If they were, you could bet that they wouldn't get any praise from me.
CBW is one band that has a reason for being. They may not be completely different from everything else, or breaking down the boundaries of rock music, but they definitely have something worthwhile to contribute to modern rock. This album is more than worth a listen or two. I suggest that you check it out if you're a modern rock fan. You'll be glad you did.
