Artist History
Sofachrome is a heavy rock band that makes its home in St. Louis, Missouri. Formed in late 2000, the band essentially builds on traditional rock elements and modern sounds from today's heavier end of the musical spectrum. Sofachrome incorporates hard rock elements and just enough melody into its songs, while at the same time utilizing guitar solos and heavy drumming to add depth to its songs.
Sofachrome has played many popular St. Louis area music venues, including: the Pageant, Mississippi Nights, High-Pointe, Pop's, Galaxy, Creepy Crawl, Ten Mile House, Club 313 and Baha Rock Club. Among some of their more notable performances, Sofachrome played at the SGM Records Aggressive Rock Showcase and was one of the featured bands at the New Music Spotlight concert, sponsored by Ticketmaster at the Pageant. Sofachrome has also shared the stage with national rock/rap act Hot Action Cop.
The band released its first EP "Freak" in May 2003. Sofachrome held a CD release show at Mississippi Nights to celebrate the release. The EP was produced and recorded by Kevin Gerdes at SGM Records/Aquarius Media Productions (AmpStl). "Dig Your Hole" from the disc has been featured on 105.7 The Point. The band also recorded a three-song demo in 2001, selling it independently at shows. |
