Artist description
Rhythm 'n Kids is taking childrens music to a new level. When children fall in love with a song, they want to hear it again and
again. . . long after Mom and Dad may have grown
tired
of it. But a new music project called "Rhythm n Kids" brings a fresh
approach to children's music that promises to have parents tapping their
toes
and singing along.
Rhythm n Kids Volume 1 (featuring Max Rhythm and Tom-Tom) is now available
on compact disc and cassette at www.rhythmnkids.com. It's a slickly
produced
collection of fun music for children that's performed in an up-tempo,
pop-rock style.
The songs themselves, traditional favorites like "The ABC Song", "Row, Row,
Row Your Boat" and "Yankee Doodle", are proven to appeal to kids under 10.
But the album's sound is as modern as the MTV hits their big brothers and
sisters love.
Max Rhythm and his band-mates are the creation of Southern California
musicians John Carta and Doug Gormley. They came up with the idea of a
cartoon group of kids singing and playing updated versions of classic
sing-alongs. The band they imagined is "Rhythm n Kids", led by a typical
California kid named Max with his not-so-typical pet monkey, Tom-Tom, on
percussion.
Gormley and Carta say they've already started production on volume 2 and
they
have big plans for all sorts of other ventures involving the Rhythm n Kids
characters.
Visitors to www.rhythmnkids.com can also sample audio clips from each of the
first volume's 13 tracks. And, as the Website says: "Even parents will love
them!" These new versions are so catchy, in fact, that adults may find
themselves singing "The Wheels of the Bus" as they set out for their morning
commute.
