Artist History
A long time ago, in the end of the year of 2000,
three high school friends, (Pieter, Bert and Fré) wanted
to torture their neighbours, so they bought instruments
and started a band.
The band name was the next problem. Due to their fascination
for British comedy, the name was first decided to be "BALDRICK",
named after the character of the "Black Adder" series starring
Rowan Atkinson. That name was dropped later, to be replaced by
"Captain Compost" which is a part of a hilarious line out of the
american movie "Ace Ventura" starring Jim Carrey.
In the beginning of the next year, in search of a second guitarist,
they invited fellow pub frequenter Hannes to join the band. The first
gigs followed, and though they sounded like Barry White being strangled
and having a refridgerator inserted analy, they had great fun.
In the summer of 2001, a first demo was recorded. A guest role was cut out
for trumpettist Brecht, who did such a great job, CC asked him to stay,
to which he consented.
At the end of that same summer, another friend of CC's, Koen, had begun
to play the bass. CC didn't hesitate for one second and asked him
to join.
Several months and many gigs later, CC is in the best shape ever,
and just keeps trying, hoping maybe one day, some ppl will actually
like them! :) |
