Artist History
In 1996 Nick Landess and Rob Beaulieu formed
Loader, then called Soul Shock, in order to play
improvisational music in a live setting. Playing
with different players in 1996 and 1997 the band
began to solidify it's roots and groove leanings.
The band played extensively throughout 1997 and
1998 on it's own and as Kim Buckley's band.
During this period the band also played on Kim's
CD which has sold over 1000 copies. It was also
during this time that Rob hooked up with an old
band-mate Eugene Datri who then joined the band
in 1999 and finally solidified it's rhythm
section. Drawing from influences as diverse as
The Band, The Talking Heads, Taj Mahal, King
Crimson, The Grateful Dead, Frank Zappa, Little
Feat, Blues, R&B and Gospel music Loader created
it's own organic musical stew. Recently with the
additions of Mike Cassels (Jocomo/Larry Lewis),
John Caulkins(from Slipknot/Fat Mojo) and Brian Mangini (Ominous Seapods)
the band has blossomed into a four-singer band and things
have gotten downright funky. All the members are
committed to creating a unique live experience
during which the band and the audience can
experience a diverse range of spontaneous music. |
