Artist History Formed in 1995 by brothers Bill and Dennis McCarthy, Tiring Sky “make straight up, flat out rock, with a genuine rawness”. Described as “thrashing pop with tight playing and street savvy vocals”, their first two EP/CDs received substantial airplay on Northeast college and commercial radio. In 1997 the band solidified its lineup with the addition of Dave Mollica (bass), and Jeff and Larry Kaplan (drums and guitar). They worked hard developing their sound by playing various nightclubs, bookstores, and radio stations throughout New England. Tiring Sky’s 1999 release, titled ‘Hyena Brother’, has quickly become a college radio favorite, charting on the CMJ as the 19th most added CD, and cracking top 30 lists across the US and Canada. “Don’t be swayed by the name – there’s nothing ‘tiring’ about this music”.
