Artist description Very accoustic sound. Members are from Australia, Germany and the U.S. There's nothing quite like Aussie blues, especially blues from Far North Queensland. Songwriter and guitarist Dave Brennan formed the band in late 1998, along with local Ravenshoe friends John, Dane and Sonja. With their unique style of soothing, casual calypso blues, The Dave Brennan Calypso Blues Band has been playing all over Far North Queensland to many appreciative crowds. They also play at the local Ravenshoe pub (the bottom one!).

Artist History This is a very local based band. Dave used to be in a band called "Rough Surface" where he performed some of these songs. John has natural soul and would often jam with them. Sonja has a great deal of drive and has recently taken up the guitar adding an unusual old blues beat. She is now playing the bass as well. Dane has played in several groups and on his own and joined the band October '98. You will find them playing at the Yungaburra and Mena Creek Folk Festivals, Cafe Culture, Ravenshoe Survival Festival, hotels, churches, trains, private parties, yacht clubs, and moon dances. Band has been very successful with the songs, "High Rollin' Girl", "Mists of the Night", "Don't Cry No More" and "Weekend Popstar".
