Artist History
After the fall of Tin God, created out of the ashes of his former band, Shanghai Dog, Doug Andrew continued to write songs. When he was invited to perform at a friend's St. Patrick's Day party he needed to pull together a group of talented musicians who could generate a powerful presence in an acoustic setting and provide an evocative vehicle for the lyrics. The Circus in Flames evolved from this necessity and after several tours and appearances at folk and music festivals along with a critically acclaimed CD, the band retains the impromptu spirit of this first performance |

Press Reviews
"A strong argument for indie release of the year... a refreshing change from mega-budget recordings and proves that character can be a far better investment than mere dollars and cents." (Dirty Linen Magazine) ; Four Stars (All Music Guide & Victoria Times Columnist) ;"...a unique but rooted musical vision and character... catch The Circus In Flames at all costs." (Peter North, Vue Weekly, Edmonton) ;"Andrew has a way with language and a way of wrapping his stories around a simple rhythm that should shuffle him off into the Canadian musical songwriting hierarchy." (Warren Footz, SEE Magazine, Edmonton) |
