Artist description
Various arrangements of music that develops like a rock song but fills up space and is textured like ambient music. The main intent is strictly emotive, and we tried to put our "musical egos" in the background.
Many of the tracks available on the CD are longer, more atmospheric and story oriented. (All of our released songs are included on the SOL cd.) This takes a turn in the heavily
death metal and Mr. Bungle influenced "Lustmord" song. |
|
Music Style
Experimental, ranging from hard to soft, classical to electronic. There is a certain haunting quality that pervades every song and makes it distinct, however. |
|
Musical Influences
Improvisational jazz, metal and heavy music (especially geniuses like Tool), NIN oriented sampling and arrangement techniques. Also John Cage. |

Popularity doesn't = music. (!?) Tori Amos, David Bowie, Radiohead, Metallica, Jesus Jones and the Impaled Nazarine. Just let the music stand on its own. |

Artist History
SOL was formed for the sake of creating the soundtrack
for a movie with the same name, based on Aleister Crowley's
Book of Lies. That was the initial intent, at any rate.
As the project developed, it became more and more autobiographical
for all involved, and, I think, became a great deal darker
than we had initially intended. |
