Artist description
I am an Australian born Chinese now living in Singapore. My musical career began when I was 3 on a toy piano! Not contented to just entertain the local crowd (which as a child meant family gatherings and school affairs) I left no pub, restaurant, stage unturned : ) So began my career on synthesizers, creative writing (stories & lyrics), composing, singing, conducting and teaching. The "Curious Bugger" in me got the better of my creative spirit, and my interest in writing Extended Interactive Multimedia Performances was fuelled. That is to say, using my multimedia skills, I crafted interactive 3D/2D animation into complex synthesizer set-ups and more. |

Press Reviews
Juice Magazine, 12th July 2002, Wayne Lee. “Hoping to spread the love of electronic music this concert featured the highlight of the night … the performance by Electric Muse…. a huge eye-opener as well as a gentle reminder that music is after all, art plus science.”
Geoff Street – 2001, Director of Programming, Esplanade, Theatres on the Bay. "The music was absolutely right ... just like high quality under scoring for film or TV".
getasia.com.sg - Dec 11, 2001, Are we all Spoilt? By Cherylin Tay.”The live music by Electric Muse, with its rather new age, electronic flavour, is almost hypnotic and really enhances the atmosphere of the play. You can practically feel the chaos of Tracy's mind in the way the music gives haunting echoes of snippets from
her memories.”
Happening – Dec 7, 2001. “SPOILT is possible a thinly veiled political commentary, cushioned on the ethereal Bjork-like soundscape courtesy of the lilting charms of Ong Shueh-li.”
Chen Wei Kiat - Sept 29, 1999, Straits times LIFE. “On Mercury’s Wings…including a suitably evocative score composed by Ong Shueh-li and performed by Electric Muse…”
