Press Reviews
"Here, on PdP's first studio album in almost four years, these guys get it right, stiking a balance that is nothing short of magical between their organic and techno leanings. They inject earthy spirit into a telling trio of of house-anthem covers(Primal Scream's "Come Together," Frankie Knuckles's "It's Hardsomtimes" and Ten City's "That's the Way Love Is") and explore thier own soulful groove on such Orrall-penned tunes as "Diva", a moving eight-minute meditation with flute, and "Spend My Life," an airy funk-jazz workout with disco-house beats, cool vibraphone, and the cascading violin of veteran member Susan Voelz." Time Out-New York "The funhouse of modern dance music provides some of the motronomic appeal, but ultimately Orrall comes close to capturing the same rhythms with a little more than piano and flute. He recognizes that the deepest beats are not always the result of technology; sometimes, they reside in the resonant, ready air-space inside ancient drums, and in the bell towe of the human heart that finally knows what it wants."
