Artist description
The perfect synthesis of technology and emotion is the OMNIbOX trademark. Rather than follow the topical path of their musical peers, vocalist/programmer, Brandon Jerwa; guitarist/sample guru, Mike Lewis; percussionist/vocalist, Michael King; and keyboardist/vocalist, Necee Traillour, choose instead to report on human condition. This Longview, Washington based group crafts music that has an aching familiarity to it, revealing a ghostly face that the listener soon recognizes as their own. The listener finds a tormented soul, but that soul embraces the pain and makes it their own. And life goes on. OMNIbOX has definitely made an impact on the Northwest live scene, playing every show available, and having opened for acts such as Front Line Assembly and VNV Nation. The musicians and their machines keep a steady electronic pulse throughout their performances, moving the body as well as the mind. Here Comes the Rain Again is a dance-floor friendly reworking of the Eurythmics classic, recorded for the Newer Wave 2.0 compilation from 21st Circuitry Records. The track has met with serious critical acclaim, and is currently enjoying heavy club and specialty radio rotation all over the United States and Canada. Ultron Five (the Acid Devil Mix) is a perfect introduction to the OMNIbOX experience. The band proves its mettle on this track, recently released on the Evolution Child compilation from Sevenbytwo records.Hold (radio edit) is the song that gave the world its first taste of OMNIbOX, straight from Doppler Effects Resurgence compiliation. This radio-friendly bit of airwave jamming certainly opened doors for the band, finding club and radio play in the Northwest and beyond. Mediator, the latest release can be found on Doppler Effects follow up to Resurgence, Transcendence. |

More coldwave in nature, Mediator by OMNIbOX combines backing guitars, spacey effects, horrific samples, jumpy electronics, and natural vocals.

Regarding the Resurgence Compilation:
“Bands that made me sit up and listen are...OMNIbOX, similar to God Lives Underwater, but noisier with a Gothic Influence... Harsh and beautiful all at the same time, great!” |
