Press Reviews
All Music Guide: This made me want to cry like a frightened child even while laughing with disbelief. Forest Animals arrived with a press release describing it as a collection of avant-garde songs for children. With Gary Lucas' Busy Being Born in mind, it was jarring to instead hear Kaleidepy's simplistic keyboard beats and one-note melodies (think Quintron) backing processed vocals like Ween used to make. If you actually play this for kids, the neighbors may report you to authorities, but Forest Animals will make twisted adults cackle and secretly revel in the disturbed bizarreness of "The Forest Elf vs. the Leprechaun" and "Gorilla Warfare." — Joslyn Layne Aiding & Abetting: On the stranger side of weird, Kaleidepy returns with more twisted musings. Most of these songs have some sort of animal theme, which combined with the quite unusual playing makes this almost the perfect album for young kids. — Jon Worley
