Artist History
Born and raised in Chicago, Jimmy D. Lane has always paid his respect to the creators of "Urban Blues". Drawing on the knowledge gained from his interactions with Muddy Waters, Little Walter, Willie Dixon and, Jimmy Rogers, he has created a unique sound rooted in the blues and destined for greatness. After a brief tour of duty in Beruit with the Army 101st Airborne Division, Jimmy had an experience that would change his life. While laying on the bed with a headset on, the song Hey Joe came on the radio. Within hours he was learning that song on a guitar he purchased from a pawn shop on 43rd Street with his last $59.00. He soon formed a band called the Hurricanes and began performing live. By 1994 he had recorded and co-produced his first full length album. The tracks featured on this site are written, arranged, performed and produced by Jimmy. Jimmy now is a music director and producer for other blues artists signed to Analogue Productions. Since the recording of these tracks, Jimmy has toured internationally with Jimmy Rogers, performed live and worked on studio projects with Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant, Mick Jagger and Kieth Richards, Jeff Healey, Stephen Stills and numerous other international recording artists. His philosophy toward the music "business" has been do what you like, believe in yourself and success will follow. |
